John F. “Jack” Brady, 80, a resident of Roaring Brook Township died
Saturday morning. He and his
wife, the former Eileen Dougherty celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on
July 18, 2010.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Frank and Clara Bauman
Brady, also a stepson of the late Irene Bauman Brady.
He was a member of St. Eulalia Church, a graduate of Scranton Technical
High School and served in the United States Air Force.
He retired from the United States Postal Service. Prior to that, he was a
press operator with Eureka Printing for twenty years.
A kind hearted father and devoted husband Jack will be lovingly
remembered by his family and friends.
A recreational pilot and motorcycle enthusiast, he took several solo
cross country trips on his bike bringing back many amusing stories.
Jack enjoyed his retirement, playing tennis and golf and seldom missing
Friday’s Lunch Brunch. Most of all,
he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, teaching them to fish and
appreciate nature.
Also surviving are six children, five daughters, Maureen Fagan and her
husband James, Moscow, Karen Brady, Roaring Brook Township, Diane Brady,
Delaware Water Gap, Erin Pekurny and her husband George, Kunkletown, Colleen
Daniels and her husband Jim, Yardley; a son, Jack Brady and his wife Levianne,
Lake Ariel; nine grandchildren, James, Kelly and Casey Fagan, Lindsey and Kendra
Pekurny, Donato DeAndrea, Jack Brady, Riley and Brady Daniels; a brother, F.
Robert Brady, Scranton; many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald F. Brady.
The funeral will be Tuesday in Saint Eulalia’s Church, 214 Blue Shutters
Road, Roaring Brook Township with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church.
Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Township.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton.
