
Mary Rose Gallo

Mary Rose Gallo, 96, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Tuesday morning
in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania.
She was the widow of John M. Gallo Sr., who died April 13, 1970.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Hornyak
Orban. She attended St. Mary’s High
School and was a member of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church and also
attended Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Rabiega-Gorgol Post,
#3451, active with the Parents Teachers association.
She was active with various other clubs
and volunteer endeavors. In her
younger days she was employed by Consolidated Molded Products (The old button
mill).
She was loved and will be missed and never be forgotten.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Rose Sulger and her husband Ray; three sons, John
Gallo Sr., and his companion Lori Johnston, Joseph Gallo, David Gallo and his
wife Linda, all of Scranton; a former daughter in law, Joan Pryal Gallo; four
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Staneski and a brother Alex Orban.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart
of Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Avenue.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s #5 Cemetery, Scranton.
