Arva F. Allen

Arva F. Allen, a resident of Scranton died Wednesday afternoon in the Community
Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was the widow of James E. Allen who died January 5, 1991.
She was born in Suffolk, VA and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late
Russell and Eunice Liggins Stanciel.
She attended school in Brooklyn, NY. She
was a pro seamstress and retired from Adams Manor where she worked as a
housekeeper.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She was an avid bingo player and loved to play the lottery.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Community Medical
Center and at Allied Services for the wonderful care they gave Arva.
Surviving are her children, Keith, Allentown, Sherman, York, Russell and his
wife Lisa, Jessup, Brenda, Scranton and Preston, CA; two granddaughters, Olivia
and Julia.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcella Blue.
The funeral services will be Friday September 30th at 12 Noon in the Miller Bean
Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue with services by the Reverend Peter
Caliguri. Interment will be in the
Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
