George R. Townend

George R. Townend, 45, a
lifelong resident of Scranton, died Tuesday morning at home after a brief
illness. His widow is the former Mary Lou
Neary.
He was born in Scranton,
the son of the late William and Darlene Dittfield Townend.
He was a graduate of Lourdesmont High School.
He was a loving and giving
person that will be remembered and missed. He
enjoyed art and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Also surviving are a son
George Townend, Scranton; a daughter, Susan Townend, Scranton; two brothers,
David Townend and his wife Marion, Moosic, Frank Townend and his wife Sharon,
Throop; three sisters, Julie O’Donnell, Scranton, Judy Pont, Philadelphia and
Amanda Townend, Elmhurst; aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by
two brothers, William Townend, Richard Townend and two sisters, Debra Townend,
Agnes Shea Townend.
