Jean B. Thomas, 79, a resident of Scranton, died early Saturday morning in
Northeast Pennsylvania Hospice Unit in the Regional Hospital of Scranton.
She was the widow of the late Richard A. Thomas who died August 24, 2007.
A lifelong resident of Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and
Edith Davis Satterthwaite. She was a
graduate of the West Scranton High School, Class of 1950 and was the
Salutatorian of her graduating class.
She was employed for many years by Capitol Records, Inc. as an executive
secretary in the company’s Scranton division and retired in 1994 from Kane
Warehousing, Inc., Taylor, where she was employed as a customer account
representative.
She particularly loved to travel, she and her husband enjoyed many cruises with
friends as well as trips to various destinations throughout the United States
during their thirty years of marriage.
She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Surviving are a sister, Lana Howard and her husband Jeffrey, Scranton; a niece,
Attorney Lori J. Cerato and her husband District Attorney David Christine,
Stroudsburg; a nephew, Jeffrey M. Cerato, Scranton; step-granddaughters Susan
Donnelly and her husband Mark, Tunkhannock, Katie Hanley, Scranton; and several
cousins.
As per her wishes, there will be no public viewing and cremation service will
take place at Maple Hill Crematory.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
