Nancy Ann August

Nancy Ann August, 68, a
lifelong resident of Scranton, died Wednesday morning in the Community Medical
Center. Her companion for 35 years,
Thomas Davis died August 12, 2011.
She was born in
Scranton, the daughter of the late Leonard M. and Evelyn Smith Birtell.
Prior to retirement she was employed by Gold Star Manufacturing and
Mayflower Manufacturing.
Surviving are two
daughters, Judy Gilman and her husband Clint, Scranton, Jo Ann Srebro and her
husband Tom, Factoryville; four sons, Thomas August and his wife Nicole,
Scranton, Joseph August and his wife Lori, Scranton, Mark August, Scranton and
Timothy August, San Jose, CA; three brothers, Lawrence Birtell and his wife
Jean, Scranton, Gerald Birtell, Scranton, Leonard Birtell and his wife Flossie,
Scranton; fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew
and cousins.
A memorial mass will be
held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Hearts of Jesus
and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Avenue. Interment
will be private at the convenience of the family in the Cathedral Cemetery.
