Addesa “Dora” Doohaluk, 89, a longtime resident of South Scranton, died Saturday
in the Mountain View Care Center where she was a resident for the past 14 years.
She was the widow of Jack “Kayko”
Doohaluk who died March 27, 1990.
She was born June 8, 1922 in Province Frosinone, Rome, Italy, the daughter of
the late Angelo and Vittoria Pettita Roscioli.
She was a member of Saint Paul of the Cross Parish and a member of the
Old Forge Rod and Gun Club, Ladies Auxiliary. She
spent her life working in the Garment Industry and retired from Gold Star
Manufacturing.
She loved her family and doted on her grandchildren.
She enjoyed making homemade pasta for her family, friends and at Saint
Francis of Assisi church. She liked
traveling, bus trips and crocheting.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Care Center and Dr.
Emma Rubin for their wonderful care.
Surviving are a daughter, Gerri Savani, Scranton; two sons, Robert and his wife
Judy, Pinellas Park, FL, John and his wife Shiela, Riverside, CA; seven
grandchildren, Albert and his fiancé Ann Marie, IL, Dr. Gina Savani-Cole and her
husband Cirdon Cole, Forest Park, IL, Jacob Savani, Scranton, Deanna Doohaluk,
Forest Park, IL, Robbie Doohaluk, St. Petersburg, FL, Kim Doohaluk, Riverside,
CA, Tina Ford and her husband Scott, Arlington, WA; four great grandchildren,
Nikolas Ford, Isabella Ford, Giana Savani and Vincent Savani; a brother, Russell
Roscioli, Moosic; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Roscioli; a sister Regina
Paolucci.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, 436
Cedar Avenue, Scranton with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Francis
of Assisi Church, 630 Genet Street, Scranton. Interment
will follow in the Italian American Cemetery, Scranton.
