
Betty Miles

Betty Miles a resident of Scranton died Friday evening in the Linwood Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center.
She
was the widow of Lester Miles who died May 31, 1989.
She was born and raised in the Glenburn, Clarks Summit area, daughter of the
late Claude and Frances Brewer.
She
was a member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church, a member of the Women’s
Society and a 20 year member of the choir.
Prior
to her marriage, she was employed as a secretary for ICS, where she met her
husband Lester.
After marrying she became a housewife and
mother raising her son Bruce.
After raising her son she was employed by Card
Hall, Mayfair Women’s Clothing and Beverly Inc.
Betty enjoyed baking, her flower gardens and singing in the choir at her church.
She also loved animals, especially cats.
Her pride and joy was her son Bruce, who she
loved spending time with.
Surviving is a son Bruce Miles, Simpson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Brewer and Roger Brewer.
The funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home,
Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue.
Interment
will follow in the Shady Lane Cemetery, South Abington Township.
