
Gary P. Comandy Sr.

Gary P. Comandy, 58 and a resident of Scott
Township, died Saturday afternoon in the VNA Inpatient Unit at Community Medical
Center after a lengthy illness.
He and his wife the former Judianne Sealey
would have celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on January 11th.
He was born in Scranton the son of the late
Patsy and Teresa Streznetski Comandy.
He
was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, Class of 1971, had worked as a
refuse hauler with his dad, and was the owner of Gary’s Corner store in West
Scranton. He
was employed by Frito-Lay.
He enjoyed fishing with his family, bowling,
model trains and loved taking family trips to Disney World.
The family would like to thank the staff of the
Hospice of the Sacred Heart and the nurse’s aides at the Moses Taylor Hospital
for the care and kindness they gave to Gary and his family.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tammy
Sherman, Scranton, Gena Comandy, Scranton; a son, Gary P. Comandy Jr., Scranton;
two stepchildren, Kimberly Meoni, Scott Township, Michael Meoni and his wife Elizabeth,
Moosic; a granddaughter, Angelina Comandy; a sister, Sandra Walsh and her
husband Paul, Moosic; an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins;
his dog Nikki, who he adored.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in
the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue.
The funeral and interment will be private.
