
Shirley A. Schommer

Shirley A. Schommer, 84, a longtime resident of Chinchilla, formerly of
Scranton, died Friday morning in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania after a
lengthy illness. She was the widow of
Clarence V. Schommer who died October 8, 1992.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Christopher and Caroline Ray.
She was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church, now Saint John Neumann
Parish. She was past president and a
member of the Altar and Rosary, the Holy Name Quilting Club, Secret Pals and the
After 50 Club.
To everyone at the Jewish Home we will be forever grateful for the love and
kindness you gave our mother and our family.
Also a heartfelt thank you to Hospice Community Care for all you did in
the past and present.
Surviving are two daughters, Ellen S. Stark and her husband James F.,
Chinchilla; Clare A. Schommer, Chinchilla and her companion Frank Marmo, Old
Forge; two grandchildren, Jamie Davis and her husband Ryan Chinchilla, Jimmer
Stark, Chinchilla; three great grandchildren, Cody Stark, Xander Davis and Ava
Davis; a sister, Gloria, Monmouth Junction, NJ; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Stark; two brothers, Roland and
Harry; three sisters, Muriel, Delores and Audrey.
The funeral Mass will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Church,
at the corner of East Elm Street and Froude Avenue.
Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
