
Eileen M. Claus

Eileen M. Claus, 83, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday evening in
Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, after a brief illness.
She
was the widow of Edward J. Claus who died January 18, 2007; they were married 52
years at the time of his death.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Mary C. Salik
Alimena. She
was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1945, a member of the
former Saint Mary’s of the Assumption Church and the altar and rosary society.
She
was currently a member of Saint Paul of the Cross Parish and the Young Adults.
The family wishes to thank Dr. James McKenna and the nursing staff of the
Hospice Community Care for their kind and compassionate care.
Surviving are two brothers; Leonard S. Alimena and his wife Marguerite, Denver,
CO, Laurence J. Alimena, Taylor; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great
nephews, whom she dearly loved and loved her.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth M. Cawley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Hearts of
Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Avenue.
Interment
will be private in Saint Mary #5 Cemetery, Scranton.
There will be no public calling hours.
Those
attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church.
